Embrace Ourselves

Embrace Ourselves

Can I feel the power that your hug can give?

Can we share each other together as one?

Will you enjoy me as much as I will enjoy you?

Can we embrace our bodies together for a brief period?

Find me in bed waiting for you?

Find you in bed desiring me?

Exploring each other deeply and laughing along the way

Knowing right now brings tomorrows too

Seeing our today become our history, together

Knowing your lips as your heart pounds against me

Remembering your breath in my ear everyday

Seeing the one who knows how you sleep

Having intimate talks and talks about nothing

Enjoying violent weather as we watch from our bedroom together

A thunderstorm in the summer

A snowstorm as it brings our city to a stop

Living our history who will read of us tomorrow?

Writing that we had a love as two men

And no one cared (because it is normal)

Seeing us old as a couple

Giving advice to young gay men

Letting our lives touch everyone

That we made it you and me in love

A life of better and worse

Sickness and death

That no one put us asunder

Sleeping together buried with each other

Letting our ashes return to mother earth

Recycled together

One person to find another such life

And recycling life again as gay men

In love with each other

Forever
